Submission – Texturing (CORE)
I wanted to focus on "real" materials and explore as many different texturing techniques as possible, while also telling a story and maintaining a clean overall finish.
Through Eva’s course, I learned a great deal about texturing, which sparked a strong interest in the subject and motivated me to explore it more deeply.
Almost everything in the scene is built using one or two Mix Shaders, layering materials on top of each other. With different brush images and masks. Some materials are created purely from images, while others are based on CC0 PBR materials.
The heart was created using an AI-generated image in combination with a video guide. Below are also some additional videos that I found very helpful alongside Eva’s course.
The carved and corroded materials each carry three different meanings, two of which are connected to my personal life.
Feel free to share any feedback, or your own interpretation of who you think my robot is or where he came from. Or maybe take a guess on the three different meanings ;)
Looking awesome. I love the different foot, kinda of like C3PO. Cool framing as well, feels like a heroic shot. Perhaps the camera is too close, I'd push it back a little so the tight shot can breath.
Thanks Omar for your feedback and kind words! I agree 100% with you, the reason behind the tight shot is to get as much detail as possible with just one photo.
