I really wanted to create an environment, so I did this 3D scene based on Belle's Cottage from the 90s Beauty and the Beast! The main portion (house, well, washing line etc) are all done with normal modelling tools. Some of the trees were modelled by building out the branches with the Skin Modifier and scattering leaves with Geometry Nodes, and some of the trees and made with the inbuilt Blender TreeGen add-on. The ground scattering is done with the free version of GeoScatter, with the path cut out with weight painting. The trees in the background hills are low-res still images of the foreground trees scatted using Geo Nodes. All the texturing is either procedural textures by me or from the free version of BlenderKit. The bricks on the roof are made with a displacement map. And the final render has a subtle mist pass. Everything is created within Blender :-) Happy Blendering!
this is so cosy and nice. There i would like to live
Lovely work Sophie. Environments are hard to do, they require so much stuff with details to really make it feel alive and your scene feels like it has life to it, so mission accomplished. I guess the only thing I notice is the lighting, it feels a bit washed out or under powered, as if it's an overcast day with clouds and yet I see the yellow of the sun blasting at the house. It's not a deal breaker, just a nit picky thing. You made good use of the depth of field, most people forget to add it, the out of focus plants in the foreground gives the image a great touch, also nice textures, so awesomeness all around, The Beast can come and visit anytime. 🤟🏼
This is beautiful work Sophie, I love it.
Congrats! Staff Picked 🏆
