A beginning not an end. Any and all comments appreciated. This was done for a small counter top manufacturer here with the idea that maybe it might generate something in the future. My gratitude to grifos83 and texturize.blogspot for the marble and brick texture.
So tell me what you all think.

Ignaziodelmar thank you for your comments. First off the two portraits you posted are wonderful. Yes, a slightly rounded edge here would help sell the realism. I will add it to my list of revisions for the updated version. I found your comment helpful. I sometimes think art is less about one's ability to draw and more about one's ability to observe. Have a day full of wonder (wonderful day).
It came out beatifully. The issue with the brick texture quality was already discussed. I am not really keen in 3d modeling, but I think the outer edge of the tap, right above the golden cap, looks a bit unnatural as it is to sharp. Maybe you could use some softer edgework here. It would shift the natural appearance in my eyes, as the area is pretty focal.
I agree with you about the brick texture. The focus is the counter top. I looked hard and long for a hi res brick that included a normal map. 640 x 640 was the best I could find in a brick I liked. The high res textures from textures.com require a premium membership. Since this was a free proof of concept image I wasn't going to go all in. If I find a good brick I will change it. It was rendered on my old Dell laptop so I can't get too carried away on the renders. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Well i find the texture of brick quite flat. Did you use any normal bump or displacement maps? Also resolution of it should be a lot higher for that kind of closeup.
You can find quite nice and hi res textures on textures.com
Design wise it's all right - but materials do need some polish.
Nicely done!
