• Kent Trammell(theluthier)

Heh yes, though I've done very little Cycles rendering with LL. Almost entirely Eevee now that I think about it.. 🤔

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Well Linux Luke surely helps with that

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

I've been both very impressed and very disappointed. And surprisingly, long render times with Cycles becomes less annoying to me with time.

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

haha that's not a bad description. That was much of my first reaction too. Cycles has spoiled our expectations of authentic rendering.

  • Darren McBain(oboshape)

gotta see it more as an iteration tool, seen as it and cycles are fairly iterchangeable mostly.

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

And the dog can't move of the illusion goes away

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Well, EEVEE seems like dressing your dog like an elephant and having to convince an audience of its authenticity, everything has to be faked so much

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

For sure it's a magic trick, like all game engine render tech

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

Oh no Omar. What's you 3 main disappointments with Eevee?

  • Phil Osterbauer(phoenix4690)

I'll start to worry when that feeling starts going away or the challenges are few and far between.

You know that cute little plane from the Introduction to Hard Surface Modeling course?  Gonzo asked recently if we ever textured it, since he wanted to explore using it for a game project. And...no. No we have not.

Until now! This model makes a great subject to explore Blender 2.8's texturing tools, how they differ from 2.7x, and how they integrate with Eevee. It will be fun. Don't miss it.

NOTE: You can download the finished textured plane with the cloud icon to the right of the title.
