This stream is part of week 2 in the August 2019 Class: "Get Started Building Stuff with Blender 2.8"
Texturing introduces color to your models but materials make your model appear to be plastic, or wood, or metal, etc. If you're asking yourself "What's the difference", fear not! I will make sure you know the difference by the end of this week.
We will also be exploring the Eevee engine and how it works together with texturing and shading for a realtime workflow.
Class Live Stream Schedule: RSVP to get notified when we go live.

- Week 02 - UVs and Texture Painting
- Week 03 - Shading and Lighting with Eevee
- Week 04 - Class Wrap
Kent I don't know why but I always think that you worked on Ice Age, is that true?
Kent you haven't started the clock
@ritag ... copied from Kent's comment ... I mean an artist creating exactly and only what they want and making a living that way. Game studios are full of artists making someone else's artistic vision so I don't count that as "pure art" the way picasso was for example.
A stream like that would be so interesting!
Yeah, discussion stream for later!
I'm definitely lucky! Very grateful for my time with CGC
Kent that's a very good point, and you're not the only CG artist who feels that way wrt industry jobs that I've seen express that. When you're making something for someone else, you're more of a technician than an artist.
Working with movie producers is the worst, at least in my experience
I really have opened pandora's box. I should get my thoughts together better and talk about this another time!
That'*s a lot of cookies, Jake, thanks!
