It's December and cold in the US. Perfect weather for a warm fire! And thanks to a recent(ish) tweet, I've been inspired to create procedural fire:
No particles or smoke simulation - only about 2 dozen shader nodes. In this stream we will recreate the material from scratch and tweak it to look like a candle flame and a raging fire.

How do you make sparks move in wavy paths?

[Q] Kent, I think you'll need a Combine RGB after the separate and connect only the R, because otherwise it plugs the R value into all three (RGB)
Kent maybe try somehow animating the X channel of your mapping node instead of animating the sparks after the map

I am getting ideas. Kent, I hope I can use your node to make big sparks to look like anime splatters
