In Blender, vertices are the most foundational component. Edges are just connections between vertices, and faces are just connections between edges.
As mentioned before, objects are just containers for the mesh and are not the same as the mesh itself. In Object Mode, transforms ignore the mesh data and are instead based on the object origin. In this lesson, we explore the importance of the object origin and how to manipulate in relation to the mesh in order to make the object transform in a more natural way.
