Get in touch with the feminine side of sculpting! As the third episode in the Art of Sculpting series, we will continue to explore various sculpting work flows with Blender. This time the focus is the female head, face, and hair. If you’re like me, you tend to favor masculinity when it comes to character creation – mainly because it’s easier. Male features are generally more prominent and bold and are therefore fun and forgiving to sculpt. On the other hand, female features are more subtle and soft which makes them more difficult gender to get right. And that’s the biggest challenge here: Achieving feminine beauty. Hair sculpture is the other facet of this training. The challenge: How to make a solid piece of geometry feel like it’s made of thousands of individual strands. Notice that “feel” is the keyword in that sentence. In the second lesson you will learn how to successfully convey the impression of hair through sculpture. CC Attribution
