In these couple of lessons we will be exploring rigging concepts, focused on the blender basics of character rigging. It is really quite simple to understand, because it's all heavily based on the human body, especially the human skeleton, which is something each of us should be familiar with.
Just as skeletons allow our bodies to move, armatures enable our blender human models to move. But while the concept is simple, the actual process of rigging characters can get very complex.
For CG animation, the way rigging usually works is that a character model is built first and then we build the rig to fit that character model. But for this course we're starting with the basics of blender rigging, and so we can start simple, by first creating a simple 3d mesh of a human arm as an example.
