Hi, I am new to blender and to CGCOOKIE website. I was looking for a course on how to model a Character, but I just found it for the previous version of blender, blender 2.7. How should I proceed with it? Should i learn from that course or has a different course that is made for blender 2.8?
Hi joaolion, I would first learn 2.8. When you are familiar with 2.8, you can follow old tutorials. Blender is a tool. You first need to learn how to use the wood-carving tools before you can learn how to carve a duck or you'll just be cutting yourself...
You can't learn how to draw if you don't know how to hold a pencil...
There are no shortcuts to learning Blender (or any 3D software), although there are many shortcuts to learn in Blender.
But maybe you're not a beginner and already comfortable with 2.8, then ignore the above and use the older tutorials (if you run into problems, you can always ask in this Forum!).
Hi joaolion, from what I understand Kent is working on a new Character Course. That will be fantastic!. As Spikey said, get comfortable with the current version. Where everything is and the changes. You can check out the live streams on the different changes with each version that has come out. (it has helped me a lot)
Here's one of them
