Hello!
I noticed in the video when he chose Wireframe he had more frames inside his mesh. I also had it a 1.0000, but not as many as he did in the video. I was curious how I can get more details in the Wireframe
Also, when I chose Box Mask it would not select anything. Is there a setting I need to check.

Could you screenshot what you mean by "more frames inside his mesh"? My first thought was the wireframe slider, but maybe that's not the answer:

If your overlays are turned off you won't see the mask do anything visually (even though it is being added):
