Tom C - Polybook

Hi!

Ive been going through some of the basic blender tutorials on CGCookie and figured a good way for me to learn and take things further would be to try take on an larger project goal. So with that said I have picked Ghost buster's as the theme and to be more specific the Ghost Trap & Slimer. My thinking is doing this would cover hard surface, sculpting and I would like to try some particle sims. This is all subject to change but for now that is the plan  :)

Any way here is the WIP of the project, I have finished modelling the ghost trap. Any feedback on the modelling would be very welcome! Given it a good try and been a good learning exp.

I did learn Checker deselect option followed by extrude normal's is great for that hard surface bump detail you get all the time!

I will keep this updated as I go

Thanks

My Slimer sculpt, I feel like its in a good place.  Any feedback would be great as this is my first bash at sculpting. I put another post about how to pose this thing as i got no idea... so any answers here too would be very welcome!

Been a journey with this model!

Sub par the retopo using retopoflow (its not great... but made sure the arms worked!) I did learn a lot of what not to do while doing it! Fluid sims, bake and some sculpting of slime.

Had a go with substance painter got textures looking decent i think... back to blender add sub surface scatter takes this up a notch. Think i might tweak the teeth texture, i'm not buying it and the eyes, I will most likely re work them.

Will start to texture the ghost trap soon!

    Hey,

Finished this little project now, think ill go back to some tutorials again to fill some gaps :)

But to finish up thought its worth throwing up the before and after for those interested. Out of cycles and where i pushed it in post processing.
