Hey guys
I want to create pebbles. But with some real nice depth. I first tought with a plane and textures but it looks still nit the way i hoped. Any tutorial you guys know that could help? It shoukd be to fill a flowerpot
Hey Yuki, maybe this could give you an idea of how to approach this: https://cgcookie.com/tutorial/realistic-particle-dirt-in-blender
You could also model the pebbles and make them Rigid Bodies and then 'drop' them in the (upper part of the) pot.
Both methods are quite 'expensive' and it depends on the scale of the scene and how you are going to use it (I wouldn't use this in a game for instance).
Your idea with a plane and textures is great, but you would probably need real Displacement (meaning a lot of polygons) on the plane to get some nice depth.
spikeyxxx thanks that was what i needed :D
gonna check the rigid bodies maybe it could add a nice effect too :)
if i where to use this for in an animation would this be a problem ?
Not necessarily a problem in an animation; the more polygons in your Scene, the longer the rendertime per Frame. If your computer can handle one frame then it will be able to render the animation. Animations usually take a long time to render (or use a Render farm), but you don't need 30 or more frames per second (like in a game)...
