Making a Skull cap in 2.82

Ok this is weird...

working on a head cap I made from a character head. Did all the usual Shift-D, separate... and looks ok in Edit mode but when you go to object mode you get this.... was thinking origin is messed up but resetting origin either in object mode or in Edit mode does not seem to make the ball and funny mesh go away....

any suggestions...

    oh I also tried applying the locations and transform all and those did not work....

    With a difference between Object and Edit Mode I'd look into your Modifiers; do you have a Particle System on the scalp maybe? Or something else that could be causing it? You are using at least 1 Modifier: what is it?

    Will look at that but I bet It is the Beard Hair Particle that is being transferred from a face or vert in the beard of the head I created this from that is crossing over.... Txs

    Yep that was it..... particle system for the beard and mustache were still in it... got to close to them when I blocked the cap off..
