Where do I start ? I'm an absolute beginner

Collaborations

I am an absolute beginner when it comes to 3d animation, I  want to learn how to create characters and animate, I've watched a few videos on 3d sculpting and I really want to learn how to sculpt character and so much more. I don't want to overwhelm myself because Cgcookie has a lot of great things and don't want to get lost learning, I want to be eventually good at sculpting so i need help figuring out where to start in order to go down that path

Thanks for all your answers

I would start out with the treasure chest tutorials to get a feel for the 2.8 interface. Once you know 2.8 you can go back and work through all the 2.7 modeling tutorials and work your way up to character modeling.

I think just focusing on the fundamentals and practicing every day (or as often as possible) with small projects is a good way to start.

I'll give that a try and see if I get a handle of things

jjonmutivito    the fundamentals of sculpting and mesh modeling basics courses are great and are for blender 2.8 already. They are great for beginners.

I totally can relate to your enthusiams and nervousness. Just remember to take a breath, and take 5-10 minute breaks between some heavy learning sessions every half hour or so. Go reward yourself for that hard earned learning. It will bring energy back to keep going each day.

I've been using this hobby for 2 years almost (only in my limited spare time as a dad of 3 and an engineer). I'm still kinda a beginner at a lot of things but I have stuck with it and I can see that I am improving,
