When I finished compositing my image last night, in the video you said reset

 around https://cgcookie.com/lesson/final-touches-compositing?wtime=856

in the video you said reset the backdrop.  When I did I got this.

Also it renders the plain as black and my render of the Procedural Clouds....The clouds wouldn't work in the actual scene as they were made in Evee. The Image background is in my list but I cannot see it in my viewport.

Is there a way to fix this?

Resetting the backdrop is a compositor setting..it shouldn't have any effect on the 3D scene... 🤔

You're certain that pressing the compositor button changed something in the 3D view?

I im not sure...I will start over. I learned so much in doing this. I’ve noticed  that blender bogs my computer down, and things start going wonky. I figure it is a reflection of a tired ol lady that needs to go to bed and quit frustrating over it for the night 🤣

  • Kent Trammell replied

Well I didn't mean to suggest you start over! But if the Reset Backdrop button is affecting your 3D scene, that's like turning the key in your car and the trunk pops open haha

The hard truth though..doing anything a second time is sure to produce better results. Personally I really don't like this rule but it is what it is. Keep up the good fight!

@theluthier  If my computers memory is full, do you suggest a restart? Things like this has happened alot to me using the lates updates in  2.8. Things stop working the way they are supposed to.  I've tried saving and closing Blender. I've done some really cool stuff in the past and feel like a brand spanking newbie, relearning everything.

It sounds like you may be pushing your computer a bit far...depending on it's age / specs. I've got a fairly beefy machine and it can make some heavy computing tasks seem doable, like these resource-heavy sand dunes.

My guess is that this particular project may be a bit too strenuous for your computer. How old is it? Alternatively what are the specs?

  • Karen Trevino(ketre) replied

@theluthier  here's my system if that's what you mean.  I'm not a wiz at this lol

ketre The RAM and SSDs are excellent pieces of hardware. The only slow-down could be the 4-core processor. Though the GHz speed is good, it's a bit low on the # of cores.

That's to say your computer overall is probably more than capable of most tasks, but CPU-intensive tasks may be a little slower.
