texture properties tab with materials in 2.8

Hi, my question is how do you use a texture from the texture properties tab as an image for a material?I know that you could do this in older versions of blender and they linked smoothly, I am relatively new at 2.8 and have no idea how to connect them.

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to do this (yet) and there never has been. When I've needed matching textures in both the node editor and the properties panel, I've always had to bake the texture first and then use it as an image.
Would you mind sharing the technique you used in older versions, please?

Sure thing, my method I used to do was this https://youtu.be/PWrEbodh3Fs?t=88. It is possible that I maybe miss understanding what is going in the video as this what I have reasoned. (link in case the time stamp doesn't work https://youtu.be/PWrEbodh3Fs)

That was with the Blender Internal Renderer only and that no longer exists in 2.8.

Like ggcs_dev says, there is no way to use the textures from the Texture Properties directly for the material.

You can use the (Noise or White Noise) Textures from the Shader Editor.

Or use 2.79 or so (still available as download from here: https://www.blender.org/download/previous-versions/ ).
