I was encourage by some friends in the cgcookie discord to make a polybook. I want to update this for the progression for this whole year so i can see look back and see how much i have improved.
First attempt (1st)
So this was my first project the i completed earlier this year can't remember when.
It was based off the fallout 4 institute lazer rifle.
I more or less got all the huge visual pieces i think however i mostly only rendered one side i might fix that later
Second Attempt
not sure this is actually my second attempt but its the second time i rendered it .
Third Attempt
Beginning to think this was like probably my 7th save i have 8 saves of thisthe previous one might been the 6th save but i'm not sure
Final
if there is one think i know is that my shading and texturing skills are lacking .
it has never been something i focus on but maybe around summer i might learn substance painter and texture it i had used designer to make one material and find it was a lot easier to learn the blender somehow (it was kinda surprising how everything is just right there).
However i didn't use it here but this the final result...Looks more look like a toy gun :D
Apparently i finished It February 22nd so i guess i didn't finish it so long ago :D feels like a distant memory
My Second and current project This new project is based on Cameron Sewell illustration
This is the link to his art https://www.artstation.com/artwork/2r4BA i did ask him if i can model it
Seen some other people modeled this and i think this concept is a pretty good challenge to boost my hard modeling surface skills.
I would like any feed back or help you can share but this was the First attempt.
Second Try.
I had added a bit more stuff
This is about a bit before i realize there was a high resolution image i could use
the floating geometry was spear parts i wanted to re-use there are a lot floating about off screen before in the render and the privious project
Third Try
Nothing to crazy here
wanted to see how it looked with some color ... more stuff i forgot to hide appear.
its like its own planet now with lots of duplicate mesh and geometry floating around now.
Fourth attempt (i guess more like 4th render)
added a light i think i should scale up the top of the mesh but i'm just going along with the flow for now
This about the time i found you can download the high resolution from artsation i was using a copy off printress
Current (5th i think)
Took this render today zoomed in
the shifter on the right is not the original is the concept but its what i could visualize/make out(if you know what what that is supposed to be called please tell me)
the one the left is suppose to be a lever but i have not made it yet.
also everything is currently rendered at about 50% of the default render settings
well that's it for now I have alot of mid term exam in march so updates will be slow but i'll make some time to work about 2hrs on it,
fixing and adjusting adding and removing .
i think i'm going to put this on the shelf for a bit idk why but i it just don't feel correct
