Note I have been going through the videos and on my own for a day or two now and can't see what i did wrong.
Thanks for taking the time to explain your issues with videos. It helps a lot for me to understand context and brainstorm a solution. I think I've seen that UV issue before but I can't remember how to solve it. The rim tile texture issue seems like there's 2 texture slots assigned to different parts of the mesh.
Could you provide a download link for your .blend file? The best way to do this is by uploading to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar hosting service then copying + pasting a share link. Also please pack your .blend file before saving and uploading (File > External Data > Pack all into .blend).

Hi Legacy Of Wax, I don't know exactly what you did, but if you select the metal rim and select all in Edit Mode and Unwrap again, the issue is solved (maybe you unwrapped when only that single face was selected, or something.
The other issue, is just because the metal rims have no Material.
Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for the help again, seems to have fixed the issue.
Hope using this program gets easier as i go.
legacyofwax Frustrations lead to breakthroughs eventually. Mistakes are bound to happen. The fact that you have spent a decent amount of time shows your dedication. Keep at it. I remember being a complete noob, and have only recently graduated to still kind-of-a-noob.
This community is great though. If you want to contact someone specifically for a question like Kent you can use the @ mention and their name (the blue highlighted name next to the user name if there are two names). So Kent's would be: the @ symbol and then type: theluthier
for example mine is blanchsb
This will send a notification to that user next time they log in. Hope that helps for future help requests.
