Hi, I wonder do you have to use subdivison surface modifier on cage, couldn't you instead do something like "remesh" modifier to tessalate the cage without need of weighting the edge-loops?
Hey mmetsapaholainen , that's a good thought but it wouldn't be possible - the faces of the cage need to match the faces of the low poly object. If they don't align then you'll end up with a very glitchy result.
