I want to do some clothing but I'm not to sure how to get this pattern. Would I do this with sculpting or is a texture doing the trick here? Greateful for any kind of help.
I would go with a texture! You could even paint it making the pattern with black lines with soft edges, and then duplicating them and blurring the duplicate to make the middle puff out more. Then use a multiply layer on top to sketch in the smaller wrinkles. Or, find one online 😄
Would the keyword for this be "Displacement map" ?
Is there a trick or something to paint in straight lines?

Exactly! And I was thinking of painting it in Photoshop or Krita to make blurring and layering easier, but if you want to do it in Blender you can set your stroke method to Line.
