I think I had a polybook in the forums from the before time, but I haven't posted in many a moon so lets get started again with something I worked on recently.
First here's some cartoon pokemon inspired canines, I Sculpted these fellas in blender then Retopologized and rigged them for animation, i still need to work on their faces as they are pretty much static.
they look kinda like legos in terms of the texture, I guess I would like to see them with fur (hair modifier?) Nice though, looks like you used your skills efficiently.
I have used hair systems before, the render cost becomes so high my little computer struggles, but I think I will fluff them up, as I do agree that the hair system in blender can look lovely and I have no idea how I would paint good fur details otherwise.
I have created this kinda moody sceen after experimenting a little with the lazy blender tutorial about turning a flat image into a building facade.
Its mostly made by cutting a lot of edge loops and extruding details in and out. then making a different material for the glass and walls. then adding simple rooms with dim lights to add depth.
And what I created is an image of endless offices, that to me inspire a sense of dread and despair.
I made a few edits to this based on a comment from brzostek in the gallery I added some low laying fog and a displacement to the road texture, Its very subtle maybe so much so that it doesn't really effect much, I have a lot of trouble getting volumentrics to look how I want. I used a noise texture with a colour ramp to alter the density of the fog, but I can hardly make out any difference, when I up the density it becomes solid and lower it anymore it vanishes.
I see people doing fantastic things with volume i hope to understand how eventually.
Decided I'd do the Treasure chest Course I got the mesh work done over the course of a day and now I need to steel my nerves to the concept of painting the textures, my white whale.
And here's a Doggo i've started working on using the method described in the recent blog post about the Fox Robin Hood, I hadn't realized how easy it was to make more complex shapes with the skin mod. this multi root separated edges method really opens up alot of options.
I wanted to try creating a room made from electronic and computer parts. I used decal machine for a few extra details and find it somewhat limited as its details dont always integrate well into the surface you project too.
I find this really appealing panboy. Well done!
Messing up all proportions (whether on purpose or not) works well here. (For instance the seat/sofa is too large for one person but too small for two, but getting every proportion wrong, makes it consistent and looking great, if that makes any sense...)
Thanks for the feedback, Getting proportions right is quite a challenge, i resisted looking up the dimensions of armchairs and tried to do it by eye a bit, I got a few misses in there. I must make more couches.
I didn't mean you should get all proportions right. In this style you managed to get away with getting it wrong., which is great!
I mean: did Picasso get it all anatomically correct?
My Current project an Retro looking ice cream truck, i've got most of the exterior panel work done at this point, dont really know where to start with the interior yet. I modeled it based on a single image that i set up with fspy in blender. so the proportions are probably somewhat skewed.
The topology on the windows is bad right now causing the distortion in the glass, I've already fixed it
Took a break from working on the van for a while an put together another small room render, Got the chairs from turbo squid and thefree3D, Made the TV and stand, The wall geese are a popular vintage ornament i made simple reliefs mostly tracing from a photo that i projected as a texture.
Did some more work on my icecream truck, I found out the truck it was built on was a 1950s chevy pickup.
I cant seem to embed videos from google or dropbox but i have been working on a short animation featuring some of the cars from an 80s cartoon called M.A.S.K
And a little video of its doors opening
