My goals are as follows:
1. Dynamic launch of the domino from a plank.
2. At the domino's peak travel, (Frame 39), initiate animation with the domino as well as begin particle emission from one end like a missile. At frame, 49 (or sooner), the domino should hit the small ball starting its roll down the slide to encounter and knock down a bunch of dominos....to complete the animation.
I've been able to insert a keyframe for the dynamic domino on the plank. However, when moving to the next frame to activate Animation, I'm unable to move the object to my next location, it keeps returning to the 39th frame position. This happens often to me and I can't for the l;ife of me understand why. Also, when I the check animation box, the domino drops down to the ground or sometimes to the starting point?
I've attached a link to my dropbox with the .blend file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/io8ghs3cwgijcln/exercise.dominoes.blend1?dl=0
Thanks for your help
Hi, I don't know if this is the problem
1- make sure you key in the animated box unchecked on frame 38, (hit the little circle next to it). Then it is using the physics from frame 0 - 38,
2. On frame 39 check the box, then it is using the animation and not the physics. I think it will put the domino at the starting point, but you can move it where ever you want, remember to key the location, rotation, etc. on frame 39, since it will now be using the animation.
Hope this made some sense,
Hey Hans, I thought your question was interesting so I recorded myself answering it.

I go a little bit of tangent at the start about scene organisation, hope you don't mind but I had to bring some order to the chaos before I could answer your main question. I promise that I answer your main question after the cleanup! XD
I hope this helps and I am looking forward to the final results. :)
Hello Tanya,
Thanks for your feed back. Your recommendations were helpful. Although I'm still having some issues with the keyframing, I'm progressing.
Cheers!!
Hello Jan-Willem,
Thanks for taking so much time to answer my question on You-tube. You answered so many more questions than I knew to ask.
1. Organizing, Yes, I need to work on that from the outset as well as selecting property panel constraints. Too many times I selected more than one object, including the ground and transformed or gave properties not intended.
2. Baking I'm still trying to fully understand. Baking was something I expected to be performed after setting up all the actions and animations. Now I understand the benefit to bake in the physics as I go, particularly with dynamic action.
Thanks again
