Ok so im almost done with the base sculpting on this piece and am getting ready for some detail.
However I'm not sure how to proceed.
I want to sculpt some surface details like elephant skin, scars, wrinkles in the skin so it is less smooth and more life like.
im running in 2.79 right now and want advice on whether to retopologise now or do the detailing in dynotopo.
I have already had to decimate one because the model got to high a poly count and like the idea of sticking with dyntopo.
but i have also seen some people saying that detailing is best done in multires as alpha brushes dont work well with dynotopo. i was originally hoping to do everything in dyntopo and then retopo for UVs and a normal map.
has anyone got an opinion on what they would do at this point, with all the basic shapes and anatomy in place, would you retopologise or stick the dynotopo for surface detailing and why.
thanks
Do detailing in multires. First of all, dyntopo really bad at alpha workflow. And the second - multires can handle more dense topology without turning your sculpting into the slideshow.
