Hi guys! How can I create a mirror (object that reflects other objects) in eevee? I tried to create it like CG GEEK shows in his tutorial "Create a modern room in eevee" or something like that, but I steel have a transparent glass (like window) instead of mirror.
Hi Korneis, this material is just a glass with tinted reflection, so that is what you get.
However,as far as I know you should use a reflection plane and place that where the mirror is. Probably just behind it, so you still use this material, but what you see through it is the reflection plane.
I hope this makes sense.
You can find this under: Shift-A > Light Probe > Reflection Plane.
Good luck.
korneisgibnev098 have you rendered the image? Because to see the effect of the reflection plane you have to do an actual render with F12.
There is a show data option in the reflection plane properties where you can sort of see the effect it's having, but I've found the result to be very different from what you render. That's why I think doing a render is the best option to test it out.
Hope this helps!
ssmurfmier1985 Yeah I did the render and I got the same result I have I viewport. 😅
korneisgibnev098 and the reflection plane is in front of the 'mirror', not behind? Render button turned on in the collections? Overlays turned on?
Because if that's the case then I'm out of ideas 😅
ssmurfmier1985 I did it! 😂 Thank you for your help! The reflection plane was watching the wrong direction (I rotated it by 180 degrees). Where was my head 😐
