On my way to work, there is this building that's been bugging me for a while now. The building has been there for years, but it wasn't until I recently decided to make 3d modeling more than just a fun hobby and joined CGCookie that I actually noticed it. At the top of the building, there is this "flat cube" like structure, but it looks like it's still in "edit mode", and the workers/artists forgot about it before finishing up the construction/render. Every time I see it I just want to hit that Tab key and perhaps also smooth out that boolean operation in the middle. This is not about which way looks "better" as I'm neither an architect nor a designer, but rather as the title says, when things in real life makes your fingers itch to the point where you wish you could extend your "blender powers" unto the real world to effect objects.
Has anyone else ever had a feeling or experience like this?
And sorry about the image quality. It was taken with my phone with an 8x zoom factor.
Ha, for sure! That reminds me of stuff like this: https://twitter.com/themikepan/status/1020383563546423296
I have the same type of " proffesional deformation" :)
I might definitely look strange when i stand in front of a wall or a tree and i study it from every angle. Also everywhere i look i get a idea about a vfx shot and i start to think about it. Couple days ago i was walking through muddy area just take references.
And something from 2d. I learn to draw human figure and guess what. A stranger is looking on everyone in a tram, creating sketch in his head.
Tough life of a artist :)
A while ago I filmed my dog running in the snow, he did this super quick turn and then ran off fast like a bullet., and all I could think was "that quick turn would be so much fun to animate!" 😄
Sometimes I can't focus on dialogue, because I'm just researching person's facial features...
Just this morning, standing in front of the mirror, and very sleepy, I suddenly wished that I could turn on symmetrize, or at least add a mirror modifier as I started shaving.
thebergh Mirror modifier while shaving would be awesome timesaver :)
For some of us, a shrinkwrap modifier would have been great as well, especially around the holidays. Would do wonders for the waistline. ;)
