Hello, been absent from CGC for a while, but I'm back now! :D
Anyway, I have a nice plan laid out and the first pillar I need to tackle is Concept Art, meaning general digital painting. Need to get that to a decent enough level that allows me to quickly visualize my own ideas. So now I'm practicing that and here's my current small painting project.
A monster taking a nap on a rock, or to be precise: Cho'Gath from League of Legends.
Any feedback and criticism is welcome!
@elensanima Hi, your dragon looks nice.
For the second image i think your shadow does not fit to your lighting or i dont see any highlights on monster at all.
Shadow is really sharp so i expect a strong directional light that will make highlights on monster.
To wrap it up monster looks like it is an overcast day, shadow looks like there is strong directional light, like sun.
tthepainter I see. The sharp and really dark shadows are supposed to be contact shadows. Would those not be as dark in an overcast day lighting, should I soften them up?
tthepainter Ahhhhhh, I think there's been a misunderstanding here. The first image is the painting of that monster. The second image is just a reference image, an ingame model of what I'm trying to paint.
@elensanima That much clarifies it. Well, thats even worse, when they can´t do it right in game :D
