Hello there, here is some creatures that i made a couple of weeks ago :)
Is it possible to retopologize them ???
They are around 1 million of polygons each (yeah i know thats a LOT), and all the spikes that you see are made with the snake hook brush (they are not separate elements).
I tried with the retopoflow addon and... the software seems to ignore the spikes:
I also tried the shrinkwrap method but.... the same issue happened:
Am i triyng something impossible? xD
It's not impossible, I think you're however using an inappropriate strategy for the retopo. I would place a circle at the basis of each spike and generate quads along the splike's height, like a cylinder;

galledark you could duplicate one spike and place the copies at the correct position, and then stich them together. Then make some modification on each of the spike (using proportional editing for exemple on the tip), that could save some time rather than going through the same retopo process over and over :)
