Anyway, here's a timing/exaggeration exercise I did a few days ago; I am trying to teach myself more complex motions...
I haven't been completely inactive; it's just that the project I have been pouring most of my time into recently, I am under 'friend-DA' for until it's done. Alongside that, though, I have been practicing 2D quite a bit - here's a walk cycle from earlier this week.
I guess it's time to switch to 2.8, too (which I really don't want to do because the UI was 'improved' beyond repair, but that's where all the tutorials are now, so...).
I'm in the process of doing the low-poly room exercise. I haven't finished it yet, but I have managed to make this adorable little chibi version of my everyday driver...
(If only my desk were actually this tidy.)
I started doing the lowpoly rocket tutorial, but ended up going somewhere else artistically (I kept to the five-sided prisms, though).
I'm not sure whether I like it yet. I'll do the particle part later today.
Every year, an informal group of artist friends I hang around with does a Secret Santa. This year, we had to be remote, so the gift format was an art trade. The person who's name I drew wanted fan art of Optimus Prime, so I had a go at making an animated one.
Stylized Victorian, like the kind you see in Alameda or Vallejo.
Hammering out another Victorian, this time in italianate style (like you might see around San Francisco or Oakland).
After seeing that Darktable had gotten a SuperTuxKart addon, I thought I'd have a go at making a kart for another related project I used to work on...
Here's what it looks like in-game:
The Yorba Foundation disbanded a while ago, and GNOME adopted the project, so this is kind of a 'historical livery' skin; I'll make a modern livery later on if this is well-received by the STK community.
(It rides a little higher than a real car would and has FIA-violating wheels, I know, I know...it's to ensure it plays nicely with the game's physics engine.)
