Jonathan, while on the topic of filmic; At blender conference 2017 Bartek Skorupa mentioned the 2.79 addition of filmic was not accurately implemented to how Troy originally intended. He (Bartek) suggests manually installing Filmic as one would do pre 2.79 and that would correct a config problem he describes in the talk.
I was wondering what's your opinion on this if you have had the chance to see it?
