Working on a new scene in Blender. The idea is to have an old lighthouse and compare it to a new one across from it, and to see how the ships having changed. It's still a work in progress. For one I have to add a rain effect and run it through the compositor to add some glowing effects to the ship's turbines.. Possibly some more realistic looking lighting to the lighthouses, not sure yet.
Feel free to comment and criticize. I've only been using Blender a couple months and without mentors bad habits can last for a long time:
Awesome, you're off to a good start!
I would hold off on the rain and compositor effects for now - that's only going to mask any weaknesses in the scene which will actually make it much harder to improve. Let's just focus on the modeling for now. Which piece, the ship, old lighthouse, or new lighthouse, do you want to work on first?
I think I may work more on the two lighthouses. They seem very bland to me, I'm waiting around for some more inspiration. I'm really looking to strike a balance between it being both a dark scene and one that's full of life. I just need to figure out how to do that.
