Hi, I'm having real difficulty with the graph editor and hope that someone can help.
My problem is that, after scaling the axes to show the curve i wish to work on, as soon as i try to grab a handle on the curve (or click anywhere in the window), the view zooms right in to show a fraction of a frame. The editor is essentially unusable as a result.
This video shows what i mean:
I'm going insane with it!! I've changed every setting i can find (including closing and reopening the program) but nothing changes - there must be something else i'm missing.
Any advice gratefully received.
Stephen
Hmm, that is strange.... Perhaps @waylow can help with this?
Hope you get it sorted soon .
I've tried to duplicate this but I can't find anything that would cause that kind of behavior. Would you mind uploading your file somewhere so I can see if it happens on my end as well?
I’m not entirely sure the cause of that issue.
You can try deleting the offending key and then replacing it.
I've only had a similar issue happen a few times where it zooms in super super close. It took me a while to realise and I zoomed out manually and it starting working as expected.
It might happen because you are zooming into the cv on the keyframe and not the keyframe itself (select the middle of the key not the handle before zooming) but from your description it sounds like the zoom is automatic?
I say, save and post the file so we can test like Jonathan suggests.
Thank you for the offers of help. Since writing I've tried three other things:
Also just took your advice Wayne and deleted all key frames. Reinserted a couple the problem is still there.
Will get some strong drink.

Yes Wayne, the zoom is automatic, I can't select anything. The simple act of clicking in the graph editor window causes the view to zoom right in. I can then select a handle but I can't see the effect of moving it because most of the graph has zoomed out of view.
Thanks
Hey stephensamuels , I checked the file you uploaded and it works fine on my end. Double check one of your hot keys hasn't been updated accidentally. Specifically, User Preferences>Input Tab> Drop down "Graph Editor"> Drop down "Graph Editor (Global)"> scroll down to "View Selected". Make sure this is still "NumPad ." Let us know what you find.
Phil, you're a genius!! Everything working like a dream now, many thanks indeed for your help.
I'm glad it worked! I had my fingers crossed for ya. Happy animating!
