Sketchbook - Quito

Well it's kind of a shame that the whole history of my other sketchbook will not translate here but I guess is still great that now the community and the site is together

So lets start this sketchbook with some studies I did this week

Here I was listening to the Doom soundtrack and got inspired to do a demon dude thing

Trying to get more comfortable drawing women and using a more stylized process

Someone on the other community page asked if a would do a modeling sheet of one of my characters and so I did, it was fun.

(Idk if you are still around here but if you are here you go)

  • quito replied

Oh also did this thing for the cdc of the justice tarot card

  • quito replied

Been a little bit busy lately so couldn't do too much personal stuff, but I did this thing to practice animation

  • quito replied

Oh and I'm starting this thing.

For what comes about the storytelling of the image, this is a giant that's coming out of the ocean water (didn't add details that show it yet) and he's standing up, he couldn't care less about the human there close to his hand or any other one.

Any advice, idea, or something to point out, like about the composition or what could be interesting for the design if the giant, etc. would be really appreciated.

So I debating between these two for the moment, don't know wich type of light would be better to present an alien robot giant

  • nope nope(maga) replied

Personally, I prefer the blue light, contrasts better with the warm tones of the robot and synergies better with the dark background. Looks really dope.

    Update!

Blue light. It gives me more the impression that this type of light is more useful for diving into the ocean besides the contrast.

  • jbaena (baena3d) replied

Yeah it's looking good! I would add more horror to the man scene and more hydrodynamic shapes (if it's really an aquatic robot)

Forgot to post it here, oops!
