Well, I originally wanted to wait and see if they could bring back the old sketchbooks, but as it turns out... I apparently really want to get back into it right away! This new version of the site has me pumped to draw some more! If we're lucky perhaps they will be able to combine old threads with new or something, should they manage to resurrect the ones from the other site.
For a small introduction; I have enjoyed drawing humanoids and horses for many years, and since joining CGCookie I've managed to finally get away from drawing anime-style people and gone full-on into realism, and I couldn't be happier about it. My horses too have followed suit, for the most part, though I still love stylizing them quite a bit. I want to learn all kinds of new things too, from birds to machinery to landscapes, so you will hopefully be seeing that become more of a theme as I continue on.
And as a quick warning, I will occasionally draw content including gore or mild nudity.
My old thread can be found here, if you're interested:

That's pretty cool that you were able to capture your dream with so many details! I actually keep a dream journal by my bed so that when I wake up from a fascinating dream I write it down before I loose it. In my opinion dreams are excellent sources of inspiration.
I was trying to draw one of my ponies from PonyIsland.... It was turning out horribly, and I was getting frustrated, so I ended up deciding to do some quick sketches of actual horse photos I found on search. The first one I took the least amount of time on, the last I took the longest. They're a bit dopey-looking, but they are intended to be warm-up sketches more than anything. Maybe it'll help, maybe it won't.
Once again I had one of those spells where I just forgot to upload my work... So here's an art dump.
I started on this one with the old Gen 3 My Little Pony toys in mind. Towards the end of that generation they started packaging the ponies in a way that mean their hair was super curly and wild straight out of the box - I never brushed some of mine specifically because I thought it looked much better than it did after they were brushed. This was intended to be the first in a series of drawings inspired by that look, but I've not gotten back to it yet.
This one is the first of two commissions I've received recently. Still working out the bugs. Fun fact, when I started this one, I accidentally drew a dragon head instead of a horse head as a result of both being rusty and still a little new to realistic horse anatomy in the face department. It's probably the best dragon head I've ever drawn, though.
The idea for this one.... well, came when I was trying to design a pony on PonyIsland, and couldn't seem to choose between two breeds. Somewhere along the line my head started to meld to the together and create some weird horse/deer/butterfly.... thing. I've named her Viscera, essentially the goddess of a violent end, including things like war and destruction. Not entirely sure how I feel about the design.
I really haven't been drawing that much. I've been focusing on other things, namely trying to figure out how to deal with PTSD stuff correctly. I'm hoping to get my head back on straight and get through this finally.
fairestmoss I love the design of the horse. I like the massive wings. They're wings right? I hope you go further with this one. I know this was back in January, but I hope you are feeling better.
