Tank Body - AO Problema

Hey, after baking the ambient occlusion it looked like this:

Even though I put 4px and unchecked the turret from rendering, what am I doing wrong?

Hey Eduardo, are there any objects hidden in the viewport that will show up in the render? It could be that one of those is blocking the AO. If that's not it, I can take a look at the file if you upload it to dropbox, google drive, pasteall, etc..

Hey, thanks for answering, I did everything in the tutorial, unchecked the meshes that I didn't want to render and everything, here's the file sorry to bother

  • Jonathan Lampel replied

Looking at the file I see some overlapping UV's and some face normals that need to be recalculated:

That's why you're getting those odd stripes. You can turn on Face Orientation in the overlays menu to visualize which way they're pointing. Hope that helps!

  • Eduardo Abreu(eduo) replied

Okay, I found the problems in the uv and was able to fix it thank you! But for some reason when I try and generate the AO for the turret it all goes black except the turret itself

  • Jonathan Lampel replied

Ah, make sure that 'Clear Image' is unchecked in the bake settings. That will wipe the whole image and start fresh!

  • Eduardo Abreu(eduo) replied

That actually worked + recalculating normals, thank you!
