Line coming from pancake

Question

This has not to do with the butter but I notice it now it that I render.

A line will appear in my renders coming from the pancake. I isolated the pancake has the culprit and when I activate its shape key the problem goes away. But I dont understand why this happens.

I tried deleting the shape key but that doesnt help. Any ideas about what this could be?

Hmm that's a new one. Does the pancake have a Multires modifier on it?

Yes it does, I tried deleting the shape keys and applying the multires and everything works fine : )

Ahh ok, glad to hear you figured it out. Sometimes I will see a stray vertex in a multires modifier's mid-levels that creates a line like that. Here's to problems solved!
