In 2:09, you mentioned Alt + A. Is that to replay the animation from frame 0?

Alt+A is to play/pause the animation. To go back to the start frame, the shortcut (up to version 2.79b, it may have changed in2.80), is Shift+Ctrl+Down arrow.
