Let's say I had a railing and I wanted to extrude the posts from the railing itself, how would I go about cutting a circle-like geometry into the face of the railing to extrude a post? Is this an okay practice or is there a better way?
Hey Cameron, it depends on how thick the railing is compared to the posts, but you could add loop cuts about the width of the posts, inset, turn that inset into a circle, and then extrude it outwards, or you could just stick them through each other and not connect them at all if the camera won't be seeing them up close.
