Tldr: How do I Animate the Y-rotation without affecting the animation of the X-rotation.
Hi all,
I'm currently working on the Antenna animation at the moment. I have the X-rotation (side view) animation down, but now that I've moved on to the Y-rotation (front view) I've ran into a bit of trouble with the graph editor.
The image below shows my finished X-curve for the X-rotation animation (1):

I've noticed that when I alter the Y-rotation in the viewport, my neatly polished X-curves move as well as the Y-curves that i'm currently working on (i'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or not, I can't see why it should be as it just undoes all of the work I've done on the side view). I tried to remedy this by adjusting the Y-Curve in the graph editor, but when I do this there is no visible change to the Antenna in the viewport.
The images below show a change in the X-curve after I have rotated the antenna on the Y-axis in the viewport (2), and also the lack of visible change when I adjust the Y-curve in the graph editor (3):

p.s. I also deleted all the keys on the Z-rotation as I didn't think i'd be needing them. Was this the right move?
The y rotation is the one that runs along the 'length' of the bone (the twist or yaw)
So you want to be animating the x and z ;)
The y rotation will twist it making it appear like it has bend it, but really it's just a twist.
(thanks for the pictures, it really helped me figure out what you where talking about)
