Hello @Kent Trammell I don't believe the speed is the main problem, rather I believe your introduction to texturing is like using 400 grit sandpaper to try cut through and remove the problems quickly. I appreciate your tutorials, but I like many others am re-watching the sections due to lack of understanding. I am watching these tutorials at 0.5x speed however, I am finding the audio quite choppy and hard to follow. Thank you for understanding.
Thanks for the feedback flutterfox. I'm currently in the pre-production phase of re-recording this course for Blender 2.8. It'd be great if you could help me clarify what you mean:
...your introduction to texturing is like using 400 grit sandpaper to try cut through and remove the problems quickly
While I understand the analogy, I would appreciate some help understanding what 200 or 100 grit sandpaper would look like in regards to teaching texturing fundamentals.
Sure, I would be happy to assist @Kent Trammell. For example, in Chapter 1 of the UV mapping video, you demonstrated all the algorithms. I found this introduction confusing because I was struggling to visualize a good base mesh. Here’s what I mean…Â
100 Grit Sandpaper:
200 Grit Sandpaper
400 Grit Sandpaper
This is the texturing basics video goes through the different grains of sandpaper effectively:

Sorry to bother you, I hope this reply makes sense.
@Kent TrammellÂ
To sum up:
I could not understand the basics of texturing because no texture was applied all I saw were funny yellow lines in the 0 -1 grid. All the algorithms seemed like 400grit sandpaper to me. I know this is probably a petty problem, I just found the structure of the video confusing. Thus I interpenetrated some of the concepts as 400 grit sandpaper. Thank you, I hope this makes sense.Â
flutterfox These details are very helpful - thank you! Just the kind of insight I was hoping for. 🙇🏻‍♂️
