The series has been excellent so far. Well done!
However, I wish the facial features of the dog were a bit more defined. I am not really sure how inset the eyes should be (for example) or how wide the muzzle should be from front view. The muzzle in general is also quite difficult to visualize for some reason. I feel like the lack of details on the face of the sketch makes things more complicated than they need to be.
Do you think you could submit a more detailed sketch? At least for the head?
Here is my progress.
Hey Fenes, I won't provide another image here since artistic interpretation is one of the inherent challenges of converting concept art to a 3D model. Even perfect concept art will still leave you with areas that you'll need to figure out how to deal with on your own.
When in doubt, find references from real life or from photography. There are many images of husky dogs online, so sift through a few of those and notice where the eyes are placed, how the muzzle is shaped from top view, how the nose connects, how flat the forehead is, etc..
It looks like you're off to a solid start, so I don't have much to critique in terms of topology other than that the quads above the eye are a bit too big in comparison to the quads on the rest of the face. You're missing the "raccoon mask" loop around the eyes, which should help with that area. I recently made a face cheat sheet that might help, but beyond the 5 major loops don't feel that you should copy it exactly.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
I won't copy it exactly, I really want to do this on my own as much as possible. Still, that is going to be really helpful! You guys really are the best!
The last thing I don't understand is why loop 3 is necessary.
