I modeled the leaf of the bush this way:
- kept the cursor at scene origo
- created a plane the same size as the reference image
- entered edit mode
- created another plane and modeled the leaf from this
- selected all
- Changed into top view
- created UV mapping (Project From View(Bounds))
- removed the bigger plane
- moved the leaf to the object origin
This way I didn't have to spend time positioning and scaling the leaf to the texture image. The bigger plane took care of the positioning.
