Hi. Excellent Tutorial!
When I stamped the text I see a mirrored version of the text on the other side of the gun. I'm guessing it's because UVs are mirrored.
Is this something that you addressed for this model? is there a quick fix for it?
Hey Prashan, good catch! I did not take text into account when unwrapping, so that was a mistake on my part. I'm not sure of a quick solution beyond adding it in as a transparent plane hovering over the surface, but that's a pretty dirty hack and not a fix. You may also try to make sure the text is forward where it will be seen the most, e.g. anything that's in front of the player could be forward on the main side and anything that's behind the player's camera and obscured by their body could be backward on the main side. Again not much of a fix but it could hide it if you're in a tight spot. Apologies for the inconvenience. I'm feeling your pain right now since I'd better fix it as well.
No inconvenience at all! I was interested to see if you had other work-arounds. This is a valuable tip that I will have to keep in mind when using texture text. What a fun tutorial! I got so much out of it, and inspired to work on a personal project as well.
