Putting a shape on ground plane

At 8:17 you moved the shape to the ground plane. How do you do that? I was googling a bit and tried to scale along z axis for value 0 (pressing S Z 0 on the keyboard) but it didn't work.

    You're on the right track. In edit mode, the cursor needs to be on the ground plane first (which can be done with SHIFT + C to reset the cursor to the world origin). Then set your pivot to cursor, select all mesh components, and scale to zero in the Z axis (S + Z + 0)
