when it is better to use emission over point lights?

If i understand a point light can be put at the center of the sphere to emit light and that would get applied to all objects. static and non-static. Correct?
But i guess the emission texture allow for granular control of the texture? or when do we prefer to use them over point lights?

I think it just depends on what you're trying to have lit. Emission is great or more subtle lighting effects like an LED on an object or something that has a slight glow to it. The point light would be best for something that has a much stronger lighting effect. They can be used together as well, like an object that acts as a light source.

Lights in general can be added to static and non-static objects. If they're realtime they'll effect everything unless you bake the lighting in which case everything that is set to static will be effected. With emission you can only bake the lighting from those unless you use light probes.
