Dear Jonathan, what would be the right order regarding exporting from blender to substance? First, mark your seams, apply your modifiers (bevel, subdivision), uv unwrap, and exporting? I'm getting a bit confused, I sometimes find the edges in substance (between the different materials, or when masking after I colored the different objects with vertex paint, to bake an ID map) a bit low poly. Thanks in advance!

You got the order exactly right! The geometry you see in Substance should be the exact same as what you export from Blender, so I'm not sure how it could appear lower poly.

Thank you! It seems I got a little bit confused by marking the checkbox 'apply modifiers' while exporting to fbx. I was assuming that Blender would follow the exact order I mentioned in my question, from your awnser I can conclude you have to apply the right order manually?

Only if you need to apply them before unwrapping, otherwise using Apply Modifiers works great since it just uses the stack order like usual.
