You don't have to export your file to get the models into Blender, you can just save the .blend file in the assets folder and Unity will import them: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/HOWTO-ImportObjectBlender.html

True, Unity is able to read .blend files. We still prefer FBX generally..though maybe we should revisit using .blend files.
