Great series so far and it's going well! I ran into this weird scenario I don't understand though:

My edge loop doesn't finish here, but the final face looks like a quad to me. I noticed I had an accidental face here, and removing it fixes the problem:

My question is, why does this fix the edge loop? Surely this is irrelevant to the final face in the loop, which still has 4 sides either way.
