Hi! I´ve got a little problem at the moment of CTRL clicking the first vertex, I can see it in object mode but when i tab to edit mode the vertex disappears and I can´t really do the extrusion.

I think the issue is something in the configuration, I reloaded the start up scene with the cube and I can do the CTRL click extrusion fine, maybe It´s something with the roboOrb blend file but I´m not reallu sure, sorry If it´s something trivial but I´m just starting with Blender.

    I'm having the same problem.

It´s not really a solution but I found a workaround that allowed me to continue the course. I reloaded the start up file and made sure the CTRL click extrusion was working, then appended the object roboOrb from the downloaded blend file and that seems to be working for now.

I looked Jonathan but nothing was there. I ended up appending the orb and retopo mesh to a new file as Kristoff suggested, that seemed to fix the problem. Thanks for tips!

haha had the same problem, but i guess it has something to do with the file beeing in edge select mode. can someone confirm this theory?

Currently I'm having this issue as well. Has anybody figured out what's causing it without using the workaround?

I had the same problem, the course file came with Edge select by default. You just need to change to vertex select and it should work fine.

    Same here.

It took 20 minutes to find what I missed.

    Super helpful, thanks.

    Yep, you'e right.

  • Kyle Manning(kylemanning) replied

Yep, it was the edge select mode.  That is definitely a software bug.  After changing to vertex selection mode, then everything works fine even if you change back to edge select.

    I have done:

    • Change to Vertex Selection, (from Edge)
    • Still in roboOrb_topolgy
    • Already in Edit Mode.
    • BUT, I'm still can't Ctrl + RightClick to add a vertex

So, I outsmarted using this method:

    1.  Making a Plane in Edit Mode,
    2. press Alt + M, Merge At Center
    3. Direct the vertex according to this video

Correct Me if I Wrong. Thanks!
