So, I have a slight problem here: When I select 2 verts and make an edge, the edge loop stops at the verts that make up the edge. If i create a face after selecting 4 verts, the direction of the edgeloop changes from going "down" with a 50°~ angle to going UP a 90° angle. If i then create a pol in the edge loop by extruding verts, the pol gets ignored completely. It doesn't matter if it's a triangle or a pol with 14 edges. I am kind of out of my depth. :( It doesn't make sense at all, going by your good explanation. Do I have additional geometry somewhere? (I removed doubles multiple times) Do I have to create faces in edge-select so the flow doesn't break? Do my poles get ignored because of not creating edges in edge-select?

Certainly. Thanks for the reply. I am really sorry about spamming you, but retopology has definitely been the most frustrating part of blender for me. Basically want outside -> inside as you described in your video. Instead, it goes up and terminates. I am left wondering why :) The outer loop has 3 edges on all verts and continues. Plus the sudden change in direction. Drives me nuts. http://imgur.com/a/68BAP

Hey, thanks again for the great help :) Kind of clicked when I kept working on it! The open faces hadn't even crossed my mind. I got one last question (for now xD): How come Blender, when you Alt+Select an edge loop, sometimes doesn't make a complete loop out of it? Basically: If I loop select the "left" part and then shift+alt+select the "right" part, the loop is perfect and closes, but it doesn't automatically select the complete loop. Is that a Blender thing or could there be a problem with the geometry?
